Engine
SIMPACK is a general purpose three dimensional Multi-Body Simulation Software which is uniquely suited to the simulation of any type of engine design. Initially applied within the extremely demanding Formula 1 racing industry, SIMPACK Engine is now also being used within the passenger car, diesel motor and shipping sectors.
Modularly constructed, SIMPACK Engine enables quick realisation and analysis of valvetrains, cranktrains and timing mechanisms (i.e. chains and gear trains). SIMPACK’s unique solver enables fast, accurate and robust simulations of complete engines for investigating all coupled dynamics. To ensure optimum simulation performance several levels of detail exist for modelling various components such as valve springs, hydraulic lash adjusters and hydrodynamic bearings. SIMPACK’s renowned handling of contact analyses with flexible bodies ensures accurate and robust simulations of valvetrain and chain assemblies.
Simulating multiple load cases with different model variants can be fully automated, including report generation.
