Wind
SIMPACK is a general purpose three dimensional Multi-Body Simulation Software which is uniquely suited to the analysis and design of any type of wind turbine design. Built upon well proven SIMPACK technology used in other application areas, for example the gear wheel element developed for the Formula 1 racing industry, SIMPACK Wind offers users a pre-eminent insight into the dynamics of their complete wind turbine systems.

With the use of simple one-dimensional torsional vibration models, rudimentary investigations of initial concept designs can be undertaken. As the designs develop into and beyond the prototypical stages and become more complex, sub-components can be easily replaced with more detailed elements. Intricate component detail such as complex flexible components and gear wheel elements with individual tooth contact can be used within transient analyses even into the acoustic range if so desired. SIMPACK’s versatility enables easy interfacing with standard codes and unique in-house codes, (e.g. FE, aerodynamics, control, hydraulics, etc.). Users have complete control over the entire system for running multiple load cases, automatic report generation and even optimisation.
