The Module SIMPACK CONTACT
To determine the position of the contact patches on the bodies, two different algorithms are available; The moved marker based approach: this allows unparalleled calculation performance, with the SIMPACK solver automatically minimising the distance between a contact marker pair, which move along the shape of the contact bodies. The intersection approach: this serves for universal contact scenarios, the contact point is determined at the centre of an intersection area.

As contact forces, spring and damper approaches as well as Hertzian contact and user defines equations (by function expression or user routine) are available.
Typical application fields of SIMPACK CONTACT are bio mechanics, cams, the contact between spring windings, aircraft doors and designs containing crank systems.
